HISTORY AND MISSION STATEMENT
The H2M2, or Husky Huddle and Malamute Mingle, was founded in February 2008 in Littleton, Colorado. It began with just a few people getting together at a dog park and has now grown into groups in 44 states and 5 countries. We are fast approaching 50,000+ members in total. We do want to focus on quality of members and not on the quantity. We were the first Northern Breed Group to establish state groups in support of the dogs that we love.
The vision was clear since the beginning; To create a group for Northern Breed enthusiasts that would allow for our fur kids to interact within a pack setting. As you all know, northern breeds seek each other out at dog parks and have a unique way of playing and interacting with one another. They love to rough house, chase, and wrestle. We know and understand it as "friendly" Northern breed play.
Here is our revised MISSION STATEMENT updated August 2015:
"We are a Northern Breeds enthusiast group that meets monthly at area dog parks to allow our four-legged friends to interact within a pack setting. The original idea was dog park meetings, however, we have evolved into hikes, dry land mushing, parades, etc. and it can vary by city and state.
Northern Breeds are pack animals and love to socialize, especially with their own kind. All Siberian Husky, Alaskan Malamute, and other Northern Breeds are welcome - both purebred and mixes alike!
You can use this group to 1) Arrange play dates 2) Ask for advice from other Husky, Malamute and Northern Breed owners 3) Share information on lost and found pets 4) Help in re-homing and rescue of these magnificent breeds. We have a tremendous love for our Northern Breeds and it BEARs all things: Breed Education, Awareness, and Rescue!
CLARIFICATION: This group is NOT to be used for the studding of dogs, breeder referrals, or the sale of puppies.• Posting photos of puppy litters is prohibited entirely within the groups unless they are in the care of a rescue. The posting of puppy litters have resulted in what we call “passive selling.” If you post a photo of a puppy that belongs to you, please ensure that the puppy appears to be “at least” 8 weeks of age. There are very few valid reasons that a puppy should be removed from its mother and litter mates at such an important stage of development.
If you believe another dog may be related to yours, that is a conversation to have as a private message. Posting the breeder’s name actually promotes the breeder even though that may not have been the original intent.
To re-iterate, we are not anti-breeder. We just choose to exclusively feature rescues and dogs in need with zero competition from puppies. We would rather focus on breed education, awareness, and rescue in support of the retention of the forever home.
As long as we maintain the forever commitment as their guardian, the dogs will never have to face a rescue scenario even in their golden years. At the end of the day, H2M2 celebrates the "FOREVER” commitment. We are here to support ALL of our H2M2 members with a caring, friendly, and supportive environment, whether you chose to adopt or purchase your Northern Breed.
Re-homing fees should be of a reasonable amount and not exceed the cap of $250 as it could be perceived as selling. We also recommend that a dog be spayed or neutered in order to be re-homed on our page so it will not fall into the wrong hands. It is also important that members ensure that the dog is “yours” to re-home. In many cases, dogs should be returned to the rescue, breeder or shelter as per the original contract. Contact an H2M2 Admin for assistance in making sure your re-homing post includes all necessary information (i.e., age, behavior, fee, temperament, etc.)
Lastly, we do realize that there will always be differences in opinions and a lot can be gained through this process. We do not allow rude, profane, or unprofessional posts; keep in mind that we are state-based and this could be your neighbor. We stand against the 4 Bs: Bully, Berate, Bombard, and Belittle.
We work hard to maintain a spam-free environment. We do not allow posts of self-promotion as it relates to products, services, etc. Donation posts are allowed for emergency scenarios and not for basic care. As much information should be provided so that members can validate if they wish to support the cause. Donations are a personal matter and what “touches” one may not touch another. The Admins will not “police” the validity of the request, so give at your own discretion if you are so led.

The Admin group reserves the right to remove any post that is deemed to go against the mission, vision and culture of the group without any notice. Consequently, the blocking of Admins is prohibited and will result in deletion of membership.
The use of our name or any derivative of the name and/or logo must be approved prior to use and never for personal gain.
If you ever have any concerns, please feel free to click on “Members” then “Admins” to contact one of the page administrators. Thank you for your support and please enjoy the H2M2 Experience!
