Our rescue efforts began in March 2016, starting with transport, and we have evolved into facilitating adoptions for our beloved Northern Breeds.
We have felt the increase in huskies, malamutes, and northern breed mixes who have found themselves in need of support. It is extremely heartbreaking and sadly, adoptions have been low and the number of souls in need have been high.
We mainly focus on the areas of Texas and New Mexico and we work to find placement in breed savvy homes through our state groups: Husky Huddle and Malamute Mingle.
Many times, huskies are misunderstood. They are often chosen for their look, or blue eyes. Northern Breeds are working dogs who need adequate exercise and mental stimulation or they can become destructive. They are known "shedders" and will require regular grooming.
They are extremely playful and assertive in their "play" style, which is often perceived as aggression by non - northern breed pet guardians.
We focus on supporting Northern Breed guardians through our state Husky Huddle and Malamute Mingle groups. We have groups in the majority of states.
